Instructions
Equipment needed: burger press, wax paper squares or baking paper
Notes:
- Make the burgers first and let them rest in the fridge. Take the mince out of the fridge about 30 minutes before grilling.
- You can cut squares of baking paper to the size of your burger (check the size of your burger press).
- Buy mince from the butcher. Supermarket mince contains water, which causes a lot of smoke on your BBQ and can lower the temperature.
Preparation:
- Place the mince in a bowl and add the salt, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
- Mix everything together well.
- Divide the mince into equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a nice, firm ball.
- Place the ball of mince in the burger press and press down firmly.
- Place the burger on a sheet of baking paper.
Cooking:
- Heat the BBQ to at least 200℃.
- Cook the burger for 5-7 minutes per side over direct heat with the lid closed. Cook 4 minutes per side for medium.
